Family
I am a very lucky guy. I have a wonderful wife and two amazingly bright and talented children.
My wife, Jane, grew up in Oak Park Illinois, graduated from the University of Chicago, and worked for many years in advertising and advertising research. Before retiring in 2010, she had worked for more than 20 years for Gallup & Robinson, a market research firm located in the Princeton area. Now she enjoys serving as an occasional teacher of English as a second language for Literacy Volunteers of America, playing tennis as part of the US Tennis Association, and studying languages including Italian, Spanish, and (currently) French.
My son, Mike, graduated from Princeton University in French. After spending a semester abroad in Paris, he returned there to teach English and Drama for four years at the Lycee International outside of Paris. Having completed a PhD in Education at Michigan State University, he is now an Associate Professor of Education at University of South Florida, in Tampa, Florida. He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in classroom communication, English teaching methods, and writing pedagogies.
Our daughter, Jenn, graduated with Honors from New York University (NYU), majoring in Gender and Sexuality Studies, and minoring in Italian. While at NYU, she held internships at several companies and organizations, including 3iying, a company specializing in marketing and design strategies for girls 15-25, the National Council of Negro Women, the New York City Legal Aid Society, and Initiative Media. As a licensed social worker, she he has worked extensively with the maginalized and homeless. She is currently part of the Behavioral Health Emergency Assistance Response Division, known as B-HEARD, a ground-breaking, health-centered response to 911 mental health calls in New York City.
